Nicely built and very functional
Works as advertised. I have the woodworking jaws, and the rubber padding lets me grip odd shaped carvings safely and securely, then turn them every which way to hack on 'em.
While this vise was designed to be bolted to the workbench, space is at a premium in my shop. I made a mounting plate for the vise out of some scrap lumber, and bolted the vise to that. Then, I clamp the mounting plate to the bench with some Bench Dog Clamps.
This way, I can easily remove the vise when I need the whole bench, plus I can move it to different places on the bench by using different dog holes.
Have not installed it yet. It looks perfect for howI want to use it for.
Solidly built. Mounted it to my bench and it's rock solid in any position. I could see it flipping my bench over before it showed any give. Looking forward to getting to use it and the IQ Connect system on my next project.
Very well made and useful. My only complaint is that the jaws do not open wide enough.
